Talent just doesn't stop - 7:12AM on 10/14/2011
I caught this show in San Francisco when he was trying it out. Im not sure what it was like to see Jolson or Garland in concert but I imagine it was something like this. Im not overestiimating. He takes you on a fantastic journey with heart, voice, charm and humor and not at all hard on the eyes. A major talent whose love of his work shines through. I plan on seeing it again.

Saw the first night of preview tonight. The show suitably about his life - how Jackman started in Australia with his wife Deb then co-star, to becoming a stage actor in London and "giving a go" to offers that came along, especially with the longest 7th call back in Wolverine after 8 months. It also highlights his triumphs on Broadway where he loves more than filming, showcases medley from Guys and Dolls, An American in Paris, Singing in the Rain, Oklahoma! and of course, Boy from Oz. Emotion ruled over the theatre when Jackman told the story about his father, a full time accountant, when he first performed at the Carnegie Hall. I had a lump in my throat. Rounds up with 3 special guests - aborigines from his native Australia. What makes this show so special is that Jackman values everything around him and grateful at that. Making sure his 6 backup dancers are well-acknowledged, his family, people in the business, fans and most importantly, he never forgets where he came from.

I have not yet seen it but Im giving it 5 stars just because its Hugh Jackman. I saw Boy from Oz and he portrayed the life of Peter Allen better than Peter Allen could have done himself. I was a big Peter Allen Fan. Hugh is very respectful to his fans who patiently wait outside the theater for his autograph. Thank you Hugh Jackman. You are amazing.
