I enjoyed it. Frankly, Frankly, I thought the reviews were overly harsh. I'd actually go to see it again.

I went w 8 other friends - everyone LOVED it. We'd all see it again and highly recommend it. What on earth are the critics looking for? As an avid theater-goer, I think this show should be up for numerous Tony awards. It's a similar genre as Les Miz (why is that bad? The story is set in the same time period and around the same historical event). The cast is PHENOMENAL - some of the best talent on Broadway and not a movie star among them! The music, costumes, lighting/effects, set design - I can't say enough positive things about this wonderful piece of theater (and NO - I am not affiliated in any way with this show). GO SEE THIS SHOW before the critics shut down another piece of great theater to make room for Disney or Mel Brooks.

But isn't it just like a watered-down version of Les Mis? I mean, every ad and review makes the comparisons very obvious, and it's also obvious that the music isn't as good.

The historian in me wants to note that Les Miz and Two Cities are NOT set in the same period, although both have revolting Frenchmen. Les Miz starts in 1815, with Valjean's release from prison, and focuses on the failed student rebellion of 1832. Two Cities centers on the more famous French Revolution of 1789.
