I admire Arthur Laurents for including the Spanish language in the most recent revival of the classic musical. I fear that it that will detract from the greatness of the book, music and lyrics of the original ground-breaking musical. Fifty years does not mean a new version is mandatory. Perfection is perfection.

I agree, the show should be revived as is! If a show is drastically changed, it is not a revival. It is a new show. Please, lets hope this does not become "the thing to do." All of us know that theater is fantasy, it doesn't always have to be changed to be politically correct. Truly offensive material would not be worth seeing, but something just the old way of thinking is not offensive, if taken in proper context. Look at the fantastic production of South Pacific at Lincoln Center: ideas that are not commonly held today, but beautifully presented in the new production.

As an actor who loves the show and speaks Spanish, I am beyond excited about this production! The bits and pieces of the translated stuff sounds awesome and I hope it adds to the show...not that the masterpiece needed any changes!
