1ST TRIP TO NYC - 2:33PM on 2/09/2009
HUBBY AND I WILL BE TAKING OUR 1ST TRIP TOGETHER TO NYC ON MAY8TH. WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE A COUPLE OF BROADWAY SHOWS. THERE ARE SO MANY WONDERFUL ONES TO CHOSE FROM. I SAW WICKED IN PHILADELPHIA, SO (SADLY) I CAN PASS ON THAT ONE THIS TIME. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON THE OTHER TWO, POSSIBLY 3 THAT WE SHOULD SEE?

South Pacific , In the Heights , Guys and Dolls , Billy Elliot in that order for musicals.

Plays - 33 variations , August:Osage County , Speed-the-Plow.

If you still haven't seen Avenue Q, I would strongly recommend that. It's a perfect first-trip-to-NYC show. I would say the same for Altar Boyz.

Billy Elliot is also a really strong upbeat contender. If you want to follow the Tony's in June, see this!

August:Osage County is an amazing play if you don't mind a really dark and somewhat depressing story (I know I do!), and I think it is holding up well.

Despite loving Raul Esparza and David Mamet, I was not overly impressed with Speed-the-Plow.

You'll have a lot of new options opening before your trip so you might want to get recommendations and ideas in April as opposed to now.

I'm personally very excited to see Exit the King - but I'm not sure when it closes... I know it starts previews on March 7th so I imagine it'll still be playing in May.
